Well, here we go. So, this big news hit the other day—or was it yesterday? Might’ve been today?—from Microsoft, right? They spilled the beans on their cash stuff for this quarter—Fiscal Year… something, who cares about the exact numbers, right? But yeah, from what I remember, their gaming dough went up by like, 5% if we’re going by last year’s stuff. Not too shabby, huh?
Oh, oh, so the Xbox thing. The content and whatever services they throw out there soared by a whopping—uh, what was it—8%! Yeah, that’s it. And they’re saying it’s all coz of Call of Duty and Minecraft doing their thing. Plus, you know, Xbox Game Pass is literally everywhere now. But on the flip side, their hardware pocket got a bit lighter—down 6% or something along those lines. Oops.
Strangely, the whole Microsoft gang earned a hefty $70.1 billion this quarter. That’s a LOT, folks. Seriously, it’s like, 11% more than, well, 12 months back or whenever it was.
And then—get this—Call of Duty: Black Ops 6… launched not too long ago and everyone’s losing their minds over it. People probably spend more on game bling than I’ll spend on anything this year. Minecraft isn’t missing out either, what with them hinting around about some Minecraft flick that landed on the big screen not too long ago. April 4, 2025, if I recall.
Plus, I almost missed this tidbit. Xbox launched some heroic epic game called Avowed by those folks at Obsidian Entertainment. You know, the world of Eora, yadda yadda, same place as Pillars of Eternity, for you game nerds out there.
Right, what was I rambling about? Oh yeah. Developing… or am I? Who knows?!
