Oh man, the PS Store just got an update on the PS5. It’s kinda like finding a surprise gift under the couch or something. Random, I know, but that’s how my brain works sometimes. Anyway, after Sony decided to change up the points with the PlayStation Visa card—no idea why they did that—they’ve thrown some new payment methods into the mix on the PS Store. Yep, now you can use Apple Pay and Cash App. Before, these were stuck just on the PS App, which—let’s be honest—felt sorta restrictive.
So yeah, you get more ways to pay now. I mean, someone over at 9TO5Mac spotted this Apple Pay thing first, and then out of nowhere, boom, Cash App’s in there too. On top of all those usual Venmo, debit, and credit card options. More choices than ever.
Now, about Apple Pay, it’s a bit of a mixed bag. There’s this 2% cashback if you’re using an Apple Card, but it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. The process? Oh boy. You gotta scan a code with your iPhone or iPad, then choose a card, and authenticate with Face ID or Touch ID. Sounds simple? Nah, it’s kind of a whole thing. Thought it’d be a swift one-click? Yeah, dream on. But hey, with games getting pricier, that cashback is like finding a fiver in your old jeans.
Oh, and don’t bother trying this on your PS4. It’s not there yet. Maybe soon? Your guess is as good as mine.
