Sure, let’s give this a spin. Here goes nothing:
So, here we are — Capcom’s raking it in. Yeah, those folks in Japan just reported a jaw-dropping ¥45.5 billion (about $302.2 million if you like conversions) in net sales for, well, before you know it, the end of June arrived. Wild, right? And — not to go all business-stuff on you — that’s like a whooping 53.7% leap compared to last year’s same time. Guess what powered all that forward? Their games. I mean, what else? Those Digital Contents, as they so officially call them. Anyway, they mentioned a few like Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil Village — and who could forget Street Fighter 6? It’s like a shoutout party, honestly. Funny thing — Devil May Cry 5 got a real boost from that Netflix anime. Go figure.
Sudden thought: Did you know Devil May Cry 5 moved 10.5 million units so far? And outta those, 1.7 million were in this last quarter alone. Also, Resident Evil Village? It’s smashing it with 12.2 million units. Resident Evil 4 remake’s not slacking either with 10.6 million. And Street Fighter 6 hitting 5 million copies? Partly ’cause of the Nintendo Switch 2, I guess. Sorta awesome, if you ask me.
Altogether, Capcom pushed out about 14.16 million units in that time — which is a heck of a jump, 48% more than last year’s 9.53 million. Operating profit? Don’t even get me started. That thing rocketed, climbing to ¥24.6 billion ($163.4 million), up 90.8%. Seriously, it’s like they found the secret sauce. Not sure what kind of pixie dust they’re using, but kudos, Capcom!
