Okay, so, let me just spill my thoughts here — Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem? Seriously buzzworthy. June’s Capcom Spotlight got us all hyped, but man, not the gameplay blast I was crossing my fingers for. Felt a bit like being promised cake and getting, well, a cupcake instead. Still cake, but not the whole party, you know?
They threw at us a Creator’s Message — think of it like those behind-the-scenes stuff. We saw some clips, but mostly it was the developers’ chitchat. And yeah, they finally addressed one head-scratcher: the main gal, Grace? She’s an Ashcroft. Remember the Outbreak series? Weirdly felt like meeting a distant cousin you didn’t know you had.
Anyway, plot-wise, it seems like a detour from the Winters family saga. Like when you take a road trip and decide to check out that weird but fascinating museum off the beaten path. It’s their 30th anniversary of sorts with the series, so I guess it makes sense. But hey, why not Leon Kennedy? Dude’s basically Raccoon City’s unofficial mascot! Turns out, they wanted someone who actually gets spooked. Leon’s too cool, too unflappable. Grace being green behind the ears? Matches with us regular folk fumbling through horrors.
And this Grace character? She’s no rookie, being FBI and all, but still newbie enough to have us nodding along. Imagine someone who knows how to handle a gun but still jumps at every creaky floorboard. That’s her. It’s relatable — I mean, okay, if I was FBI… and anyway, you get the drift.
Yeah, you’ll get to choose first-person or third-person views. Apparently, it’s not because of previous games’ DLCs but more about how folks at Capcom noticed we seem to stick to whichever perspective we like and ignore the rest. Makes sense? Maybe. Depends on your mood, really.
Mark your calendars or whatever; Resident Evil Requiem’s dropping on Feb 27, 2026. Excited yet? Or at least intrigued? Let’s see where this Ashcroft journey takes us. Fingers crossed for no zombies with cake this time. Or maybe that’s exactly what we need. Who knows.
