So, there’s this thing called Maze: Interim Odyssey. Ever heard of it? Um, neither had I until like yesterday, and now here I am, babbling on about it. I mean, it’s from this bunch called TreeFall Studios, who apparently did some Maze: Pedestal of Trials gig before. Bit of a mouthful, right? Anyway—oh wait, is that coffee I smell? Nope, just my over-imaginative brain. Moving on.
Right, back to the game. It’s supposed to be sandwiched between Pedestal of Trials and something they’re cooking up next, Rising Trials or whatever. Feels like you’re stuck in a puzzle sandwich. Sounds kinda like a standalone gig but really, who knows? Oh, did I mention there are four levels? Just four. Seems small, right? Or maybe that’s just me getting distracted by random stuff, like the mystery of that missing left sock.
So here’s the deal: first-person view, which honestly makes me a bit dizzy sometimes. You waddle around using the left stick and spin your head with the right. Jump with X, which feels satisfying in ways I can’t explain—or maybe it’s just me. And sprint with R2. If you trip up—cuz, let’s face it, life is full of pitfalls—you respawn. But hey, you can place checkpoints. Handy, right? Just bash the Square and there you go. Kinda feels like a video game hug.
And get this—it’s trophy heaven. There’s even a Platinum up for grabs. Like hitting the jackpot but without winning any actual money. Grab some coins, set a checkpoint, finish the tutorial…blah blah. Seems easy? Depends. If you’re stuck like I was on finding my car keys last week, it’s gonna be a journey.
Anyway, it’s cross-buy. PS4 and PS5 versions—and you don’t have to shell out extra dough. Two-for-one kinda deal. Trophy lists for each, by the way, like some sort of digital Easter egg hunt just without the chocolate.
