Drag x Drive is about to drop for Nintendo’s Switch 2—yeah, the new one. Who saw that coming? Not me, that’s for sure. So this game, it’s all about wheelchair basketball, but with mice doing the heavy lifting. Weird, right? Nintendo just threw a gameplay trailer at us, peeling back the layers of this sports mayhem, and we’re counting down to August 14.
So this trailer, it’s a 7-minute deep dive into Drag “and” Drive (who knew that was how you say it?). Really packs a punch with control tips, tricks, and this whole world beyond the arena. My brain keeps spinning about what kinds of modes we’d see outside those 3-on-3 matches. Turns out, there are minigames between matches! That’s some thrilling spice for the mix. Online play, training, bots—it’s all in there.
Nintendo broke down the features, and here’s what sticks:
Jump into online lobbies—you’ve got players coming together from everywhere. Six folks and boom! A match kicks off! And guess what? You can cram 12 people into a Public Park. More into cozy vibes? Pull your friends into Friend Parks, private spots for picking what shenanigans you’re up for.
Two courts, six players each, challenges to snag top leaderboard spots. Go solo offline against computers to sharpen up your game. Three driver choices—Guard, Center, Forward. Seems each has different stats, so a little mix and match makes the magic happen.
Need a breather from dunking? Leap into the Circuit Sprint minigame, shooting contests, or try the Rebound Scramble. Jump rope too, for some bunny hop practice—and other randomness? Sure, why not. Complete challenges to grab trophies and deck out your driver with helmets, armor, and tires. Mix colors, slap a number on—make it yours.
These features? They’re calling my name. But what do you make of it? Sneaky hit for Nintendo or what?
Oh, almost forgot—the Global Jam. It’s your chance to dive in early from August 9-10, a preview splash before the big launch. Play with mates, test the waters:
– August 9, 3 am to 7 am PT
– August 9, 5 pm to 9 pm PT
– August 10, 9 am to 1 pm PT
Fingers crossed, Drag x Drive slams it home on August 14. Let us know if you’re as hyped as we are!
