Okay, so imagine this—Resident Evil 9 stuff has been kinda floating around like a ghost in the gaming world, right? Insiders swear it’s just around the corner, then…poof, nothing. Every time there’s a show, everyone sits there, fingers crossed, and nada happens. But guess what? Today might just be the day we’ve all been chewing our nails over.
At this big Summer Game Fest thing, Capcom pops up on the screen. They’ve been all mysterious lately. Jun Takeuchi, bless him, pops by in a video with one of those friendly yet cryptic messages. He basically says, “Thanks, totally appreciate y’all for loving Resident Evil, and yeah, more stuff is coming soonish.” Which makes you think, “Oh great, more waiting.” But then, hold up—right at the end, they hit us with the real deal outta nowhere.
Boom! Out comes this chilling trailer, and Resident Evil 9 decides on a name: Resident Evil Requiem. Apparently, it’s going to scare the pants off us all over again, a vibe kinda like Resident Evil Biohazard. Spooky, right? Oh, and here’s the kicker—you can dive into this horror flick on February 27, 2026. Mark those calendars!
Now, if you’ve been eagle-eyed, you might’ve caught little hints from Capcom in random clips. Like, there was this one video about RE4 hitting 10 million copies—a blink-and-you-miss-it tease for RE9. Pretty sneaky, huh?
They’re talking like RE9 is gonna take the series to a whole new level. But, maybe we shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves. I mean, leaks are leaks—they’re about as reliable as my cat on a diet. Capcom’s been around the block, though, so whatever they’re cooking, fans are probably gonna eat it up like hotcakes.
Anyway—okay, back to where I was—more details are bound to trickle out as the year flies by, all the way up to launch day. Expect it on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S. So, yeah. Anyone else feeling the hype yet?
