Sure, I got you. Let’s dive into this.

Hey there, PlayStation peeps! It’s Chris Darril here. Yeah, that Chris – the guy behind “Bye Sweet Carole” and the founder of Little Sewing Machine. And no, I’m not sewing anything right now.
So, “Bye Sweet Carole” is like, this cool mix of all the animated films I obsessed over as a kid, and yep, there are nods to video games everybody knows today. Before this lands on PlayStation, I’ve gotta spill about a funky character—The French. Picture them sneaking into Bunny Hall, messing around with some fire. Not gonna lie, the whole fire thing? Kinda gives me the creeps. Maybe it’s a piece of the “Where’s Carole?” puzzle. Who knows?
So what’s the deal with The French? Honestly, the mystery vibe is strong. They’ve got this look that screams they’ve seen things. What’s up with the fire, though? I mean, we’ll find out, along with Lana, when we play.
Now, switching gears—fairytale style. Swapping filmmaking for game designing was wild. Carole was born out of some late-night goofing with my Remothered prototype in RPG Maker. She showed up as this pastel cartoon princess, and bam—I’m back watching those classic animated films, all dark and haunting.
But here comes a twist. Merging this vibe into a game was, I tell you, a head-scratcher. Think of games like Resident Evil, Clock Tower, and Gris. They kinda set the tone for us. Slow storytelling, spooky feels—yep, all there.
Now bear with me—it’s shifting to interactive storytelling, like directing a game-film hybrid. It’s all about making sure tech and storytelling click, keeping things fluid ’cause, hiccups, you know? From concept to storyboard, it’s a leap, then a lot of huffing and puffing over animation, and teamwork—oh man, can’t forget that.
Alright, let’s talk about drawing this beauty. “Bye Sweet Carole” was hand-drawn, every single frame. Ditch one, and the charm’s poof—gone. Tech’s been a lifesaver, though, keeping things smooth, but we made sure to keep that hands-on feel. With PlayStation’s 4K, you’ll see that heart up close. Music? Compliments of Luca Balboni, and the voices—Rossa Caputo in Italian, Lani Minella, and Elsie Lovelock, bringing Lana to life.
Wrapping this up—doing “old school”? Not easy, trust me. But all of us, we’re chomping at the bit for you to meet The French and give “Bye Sweet Carole” a whirl. It’s a modern fairytale, aiming to be a mix of nostalgia, warmth, and just a pinch of wistfulness. Best thing I’ve ever worked on, hands down.
And one last thing, ’cause why not? Yup, “Bye Sweet Carole” will be on actual discs at your fave retailers. Pre-orders, digital downloads, all that jazz, especially if you’re into the whole physical media throwback.
Stick around for more. We’re jazzed to bring this heartfelt project to you all.
